Gotong-Royong

Today my school organized a gotong-royong activity to complete clear the school of unwanted rubbish, and this time we had been asked to plant some vegetables or fruits. So, KRS brought some seeds of brinjal, chilli, kangkung, and PUMPKIN?! The twins wanted it... xD So anyway, everybody worked quite hard today, and there was cheap nasi lemak for only RM1 each.

Sweeping with the leg...

Presenting the drug addicts... Just joking, they're planting the vegies.

Dang! zzz!!!

What a great surprise huh. BM teacher just asked me to enter the BM essay writing competition! == Now for what reason would she wanna get me involved huh. My BM ain't very good anyways. Just because I always do her homework doesn't mean my BM is all perfect ==. There are people whose BM re better than mine in my class luh!!! Zzz... Fine. Monday have to go to library at 8.15am for the competition... I think I should get ready to die.

Today, I brought the story that my class oral group customized for my english tution teacher to check. There were some minor mistakes, but she said the story was ok. And when I went home for dinner, my younger brother go sapu all the chicken, leaving only a quarter of a plate left for me... == Darn zzz....

Heartbreak Armageddon by Dragonforce

Dragonforce released their latest album in the year 2008 called Ultra Beatdown. The 8 soundtracks I find a bit non-suited to feed my need for heavy metal music. There is one which I like though - Heartbreak Armageddon, the 4th soundtrack in the album. So, here are the lyrics. You can listen to the soundtrack on YouTube.

[Verse 1]
Highway of emptiness outside the burning world
Rise again this quest for our salvation

Running faster the savage laughter the daylight fades away
Nothing left but the life we left behind

Ever searching the hidden faces the hatred grows inside
Broken man and a family left destroyed

[Pre-Chorus]
Light years away empty words between us
So turn away and say goodbye for the last time tonight

Still lost within the loneliness a lifetime ago,
Hanging on as we passed through the fields,
These pieces of our lives will lead the long journey home
And the wounds never heal, so...

[Chorus]
Fly for the last time and a fire burns within
Silently we stand in a long forgotten wasteland
Rise through the lost ages hope they will bring
Free forever more and the dream will never die

[Verse 2]
Devastation, a lost connection, a beatdown man returns
So confused and alone for one more time
Crushed defeated, the fog surrounding, a prisoner trapped inside
System down feel the veins erupt tonight

[Pre-Chorus]
Time after time, promises of freedom
We'll leave the past behind and strike for the first time tonight
Still mystified by lack of cravation they show
After all of the trials we've been through
These memories and empty words were all lost in vain
And the scars never heal, so...

[Chorus]
Fly for the last time and a fire burns within
Silently we stand in a long forgotten wasteland
Rise through the lost ages hope they will bring
Free forever more and the dream will never die

[Guitar Solo]

Repeat Chorus twice, and for the last chorus everything is up by one note.

February 14th - Valentines Day

Yes, today is Valentine's day, and the day began with an alarm ringing at 5.40am because I HAVE SCHOOL TODAY! Its real stupid yeah? We have to go to school today as a replacement for the holiday during Chinese New Year. While eating my breakfast, I was thinking that nobody would be in the mood to study at all, since the school had quite a number of young couples...

The day at school started off with assembly, followed by a public speaking on the origin of Valentine's day. And the speaker actually went to say Valentines day to the principal, the PK akademik, PK koko and PK hal ehwal murid. I was like, omg GAY GAY GAY!!! But it gave us a good laugh...

And guess what, when we entered class, there was a marvellously pink basket of furry stuff and some bears on Soh Khee's table. Wow I thought, there should be more roses and presents later I guess. The day went on as usual, just less classes because the teachers had a meeting after assembly for around 1 hour, and they had a feast during the last period of school.

When our BM teacher came into class, we all wished her happy Valentine's day. Instead of a friendly greeting, she frowned and the class was I could feel a dark, dangerous and terrorizing aura spreading (Lol I'm just exaggerating its not that bad). She told us the origin of Valentines day (There's more than one?) and said that during the past dark years, the Christians were cruel to the Muslims and beheaded many of them. And on 14th Feb they went to the houses of people and showed the chopped heads to them while saying Happy Valetines day ==. I nearly puked hearing that, how disgusting. She said its in the history books, I wouldnt wanna cross something like that == Imagine somebody at your doorstep with a head without a body in his hand zzz.

We then continued the lesson by finishing the synopsys of the novel "Konserto Terakhir". I actually like this novel, its the very first book I thought was good in 5 years -____________-

The day went on as usual, and after Biology class we had around 40 minutes free time. The class was very very noisy. Nearly everybody brought their handphones and took pictures/listen to music while chattering away. I did some of my Add Maths homework and went to sleep after that but was near impossible with all the noise -_-

Finally it was time to go home. And of course, I couldn't remember how many times I saw couples holding hands....

Blog Update

I guess I have nothing much to really write about. Just some stuff that happened in school recently.

On Feb 11th, it was Huai Zhi's birthday, the class monitor of 5L monkeys =P And what happened was, after the last period, some people stayed back in class and smeared cream all over his face and shirt. The class immediately turned into a warzone of cream. There was cream everywhere, on the chairs, on the floor, on the tables and of course, on the faces of those who got involved (I went out of class ^_^)

And of course, sports day is coming, and also during the mid year holidays we will be having 2 camps. One is the official camp for Kadet Remaja, and the other one is a joint camp by 4 uniform units, namely the 20th Kepong Scouts, the St. Johns, the Kadet Bomba (Firemen) and Kadet Remaja. Its going to be a busy busy year. What's more, the school carnival's date is set in April. Its a real mad rush for us to finish everything on time, but I guess we don't have any choices.

We have a new chemistry teacher - Miss Lim. She's actually quite good, and from what I observed, the whole class was actually paying attention. And I meant seriously paying attention. It was real super amazing for our class to actually pay attention to what the teacher has to say LOL. But anyways, we should get ready for the upcoming big exam so, I guess a change in attitude is always good as long as its positive.

I guess that's all I have to write for now. Off I go then~

Visit to Universiti Malaya - An Overview & Introduction to Geology

To all my uncles and aunties and other relatives viewing this blog - I am not 100% interested in this field. I just happened to see this trip was open so I joined with a few friends of mine to see what this course has to offer. I took alot of pictures during this trip, so you can have a better view of what its like.

7th February 2009

Today, I joined a tour to Universiti Malaya to get an overview and introduction to the field of Geology. It seems that there are lots of fields from the Geology section, like volcanology, seismology... The trip was open to all students, but apparently only 8 Form 5 students (including me) volunteered. The other 17 are Upper 6students. I reached school before 7am as instructed and met up with the teachers and my pals Andrew, Chris and Jia Chang. We left the school in a bus at around 7.30am. And guess what? Andrew decided to do a little mischief as we left the school...

Yeah, he used his camera to simple flash at anybody he sees. First he flashed the band members, then one of our cadet members, and then the guard =.=

Here is what its like in the bus...

And very soon, we reached the University, and we were taken to the Science Faculty by one of the staff members in charge.

Around the University.

Messy notice board :D

MONKEY!

Later, we were asked to enter the lecturing hall.

This is where the teachers sit.

And this is where we sit.

After all the students were gathered at the lecture hall, there were a few welcome speeches by the commitee members and a short introduction video about the earth and Geologists and the importance of their career.

Phrase of the day : Its all about the rocks.

We were then given our breakfast break, at around 10am and some free time till 11am to explore the faculty. We were given chocolate cream bread and a cup of crysanthymum tea. We munched down our breakfast, and went off to explore the faculty and take some pictures.

We walked around when the Biology sign caught our eyes. We decided to check out this part of the faculty, and my pals found a spiral staircase to have some fun?

The biology signboard.

The Biology part of the faculty was quite interesing. We even found a sample of an elephant skull!

Some small skeletons.

Later we went back to the lecture hall where we were divided into 5 groups namely A, B, C, D and E. I was in group D. With 1 leader leading each group, we were taken around the science faculty for a little touring.

The 3 new friends we met at the trip (snoozing away).

Basically that last pic taken was during the lecture of Mr. Lawrence from Canada who has a PhD in Geology. I think he talks too much because his speech was actually quite boring. I find it hard to concentrate and stuff.

This guy taller than me is Dr. Lawrence.

And that's not all, he never gets to the point fast enough. When people asks him a question, he tells you all sorts of stories before he gives you the real answer. Really long winded person. But nevertheless, one of the more important Geologists.

The whole thing ended at around 4.50pm+ and we reached back to school at around 5.20pm+. Quite an experience... And then we saw a rock.

And thought back about the trip.

EVERY ROCK HAS A STORY TO TELL... ITS ALL ABOUT THE ROCKS!
